 Thank you for visiting our web site.  We are a group of psychologists, clinical social workers and Licensed Professional Counselors.  We hope you can get an idea of who we are and if one of us might be someone you would like seeing in therapy.

Regardless of whether you are interested in individual counseling or you are looking for marriage or relationship counseling, family therapy or you have a child you want to place in therapy, there is a lot of research that indicates that your relationship with, and impression of your therapist is one of the most important elements of successful therapy.

Leslie Auld, MSW, ACSW, 517-484-7009
Leslie is a clinical social worker with 15 years experience working with individuals and families.  Areas of expertise include work with chronic mental illness, depression and suicide, personality disorders, domestic violence, issues of adolescence and families.  She has worked in a variety of settings - Community Mental Health Emergency Services, Adult Outpatient, public schools, a domestic violence shelter, and a crisis residential program.
Ruth Charles Edwards, A.M., CSW, ACSW, 517-482-9811
has been providing clinical services for over thirty years.  She sees individuals, families and couple of all ages, ethnicities and sexual orientation.  Her social work degree is from the University of Chicago, School of Social Work, with additional certification in Substance Abuse Counseling.  Over the years, she has received specialty training in families, trauma, psychiatric disorders, Attention Deficit Disorders, and chronic health issues, including physical health and dementia.  Ruth has been previously employed in community mental health programs, psychiatric facilities, Blue Care Network, Greenspring, Magellan outpatient facilities and private practice.  She is available for supervision, consultation and public speaking regarding common psychological and family issues.     

Jill Messer, ACSW, 517-332-7105

is a clinical social worker who has worked in the mental health field for over 25 years. In addition to her outpatient practice, she also works as a school social worker. She enjoys working with adults, families, children, and adolescents. Her areas of special training and interest include: trauma, grief and loss, depression and anxiety, work adjustment, and divorce. She is also trained as a collaborative divorce coach.

Elizabeth Meyers, LMSW, ACSW, 517-341-3771

Liz received her Masters in Social Work in 1980. For the past 24 years she has provided services to public schools.  She has conducted a private practice for the last 15 years. She has also worked in medical and psychiatric hospitals. Liz’s areas of expertise include children’s health and disabilities, ADHD, behavioral disorders, divorce and family stressors.

Michael is a licensed psychologist with clinical experience dating back to 1982. In his practice he sees individual adults (adolescents and older), as well as couples. His areas of specialization include post traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, grief and bereavement, and relationship issues. Michael is an assistant professor at Michigan State University’s Masters in School and Agency Counseling program.  Michael is an Approved Consultant and a Certified Therapist in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)
 
Carol Schwartz, Ph.D., 517-372-2536

Dr. Schwartz is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in mental health settings in the greater Lansing community for over 20 years including the University Counseling Center, Community Mental Health and Gateway Community Services. Dr. Schwartz specializes in individual psychotherapy with women, but also sees men and couples.  Areas of focus include depression, anxiety, PTSD, divorce adjustment, parenting and general relationship issues.  Dr. Schwartz has a background in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, but uses other approaches as well.  She also does trauma intervention using EMDR.

Jason is a licensed psychologist with 12 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. Jason specializes in providing psychological evaluations for children and adolescents, as well as adults. Psychological evaluations can include the assessment of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning disorders, depression, anxiety, as well as other behavioral and emotional difficulties. In addition, Jason has expertise in providing treatment for children and teens who suffer from ADHD, behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, and post traumatic stress disorder. He also works with adults suffering from anxiety and depression.
